i agree hun....

no kidding right.....when i did the yorkshire run - which is tiny comapired to manchester, there were over 300 people cueing for their packs - there was only 2000 running in the race !!!

can you imagine how many of us are gonna be cueing on sunday - 36000 runners

they were very generous and invited us to drive all the way up there the day before to collect our numbers - but sadly they didnt offer to pay for petrol or hotel fees

i asked them why they didnt send stuff out earlier and they said cause we (runners) have a tendency to loose the numbers and chips -

cheeky arent they - i would never loose my number or chip

I'm sure you will all get them on time, but it's a bit out of order making everyone sweat until the last minute for them.

Paul is shown as entered in the link below in the elite group number 64:

if mine doesnt come i'm doing the whole run stark butt naked in protest at their incompetance for not

sending the packs out.

and i will do it ....just you see ....i did a spencer tunick nude photo shoot in manchester with 500 other

people last year so it wont be the first time i've been butt naked and on telly on the streets of

manchester ....if they tell me to cover up i'll ask them to stick my running number over my bottom

It does beg the question why they leave so late.

Anyhoo I ran Bupa Yorkshire last year in 50 mins and last 3k was challenging as all up hill.

Been training twice as hard than last year and would love to break 50 mins or mid 40's.

Is it realist with 4 times the amount of runners as Sheffield with the congestion ?

At your bum haha.

Still no pack for me to sooo pissed off with the organisation that next year I won't do it in protest. If no show tomorrow going ring for info so least I know have feeling I Been put in pink, someone I know aiming for 50 mins and in pink. It seems odd people end up in totally inappropriate catergorys. I know this year I be slower lack training etc.

look at that ...i'm so cross its the first time i have used a before

after waiting on the phone for 10 minutes i eventually got to speak to a person instead of a stupid voice telling me

''all our information can be found on the website''

i spoke to the lady in my usual timid apologetic voice

(still haven't learnt to express anger appropriately )

she told me packs were still going out today and tomorrow

is it me.....or is that taking the micky a bit

not again....bupa you and me are done

she told me i'm in the orange wave ......

dont know whether i can be arsed to go to be honest now...

(scuse the phrase ''arse'') sorry

not really understanding at all how on earth they decide which waves to put us in ???

if they are deciding that by looking at previous times (like choosing the pink wave for rob cause last year he was injured ) then i should of been in a much slower wave if they consulted my time from last year ?????

who knows how these people work ......if we cant trust them to send the packs out on time how on earth can we trust them to get timing pens right ???

i will just stand right at the back of the group and to 1 side well out of the way - there is no way i am getting in the way of any elite or faster runners....

there is nothing more frustrating than being stuck behind a slow runner - i will make sure i am well out of the way !!!!

i wonder if they put a mix of abilities in each wave as opposed to clumping each runner according to ability ????

who knows how these people work ???

i noticed it said that if you want to move up to a faster timing pen you have to send them evidence that you are that quick from race results !

where they plucked my time allocation from i'll never know

rob what time did you put ??? or do you think they just consulted your time from last year ?

they couldnt have done that with my though??? i wasnt an elite runner last year (hard to believe .....i know )

i bet they have done that ....a mix of all abilities in each timing pen ....so that we dont all rush at once at the same speed ....they must have done

cause your really fast for the pink wave rob - therefore you will be at the front.

i'm really slow for the orange wave therefore i will move to the back...hopefully easing congestion for the 37,000 runners

thats what they have done isnt it .....you imagine a timing pen with everyone running at the same speed ......they have mixed the abilities together to save

the bottlenecks

We are all part of an experiment!!!!! I suggest you start right up with the elites and trip up a few in protest on live TV!!!!! With a bit of luck you could start a mass pile up of runners and get in the world record books for the biggest pile up of runners caused by a naked bear

I put 55 mins as my estimated time, I think... I've always been in the white wave before now... strange stuff, all will be revealed, maybe I will meet a celeb

Keeping my fingers cross that the packs arrive!

Would love to know the time allocations for the waves. Agree that cause you walked last year rob that last year time been used for your wave instead of you expected time.

I'd be bricking it in the orange wave that my aim I want to be an orange one day not a literal round orange although I resemble one them at mo with my waste line ha. Really hoping pack comes today. Im in dilemma do I go in White at back or drop back and run with my bro and bro in law to blue wave. My bro in better shape this year so it may push me but at same time rather start earlier. This much I know if I were to do it again next year I'd be in
Slower wave as gonna be looking at least 58 I reckon this year. So I probably should be in
Blue but cause of last year time allocated White.

Not sure what to do, any advice welcome !!!

there are 38,000 runners this year arent there .......7600 runners in each of the waves ......

so i am still figuring they put a mix of each ability in each wave ......

they must cause how else would i be in the elite wave ????

they dont hold anyone back from starting the race just flows as 1 big whole doesnt it ....once its

started ....so there are no gaps in the race .....it just flows - does that make sense. some waves may

start off earlier than their allocated time once everything starts to flow .

vonnie dont worry about the time waves too much....just go with the flow....

you are an amazing runner !!!!!!!
