Yeah, that's right Oz: 100% effort is
ALWAYS going to
feel like 100% effort, no matter how fast a speed that effort is producing.
These days, I always seem to believe that every injury may be the one that finishes me completely. The one I'm battling with at the moment appears to be vying for that title.
I too envy the younger runners who are still on the way "up"... but I see
your example as an encouragement... I
should have many more years to go yet.
