I have been happily using my HRM with my 301 for several months now but after last nights run I got back and realised the HRM wasnt picking up any beat.

I changed the battery and still nothing so went into settings and did a "re-scan" but again still nothing.

Ive washed the contacts just in case as it said to make sure theyre clean but I just cant get anything out of it.

Does anyone have any advice, ive contacted Garmin who just replied "we can supply a new HRM strap for £40" which doesnt really help and if im going to have to pay £40 I may aswell pay the extra and buy the 305.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

if you've changed the battery and the contacts are sufficiently moistened, I can't think what could be the problem. Nice of Garmin to be so helpful though!

I tried some possibilities ( etc.) but with no success.
