It's been a few years since I've run my best times. I now stick to beating my "vets" PB.

I have been running for 20 years (49 now) but I do keep a hope that I have not yet begun to decline.
Both my training and races have morphed over the years, I now train off road as much as possible, this includes very hilly terrain, and my long runs are longer, 2-3 hours when fit.
I race off road as well, local hill races in the Pentlands and one long race a year such as the Highland Cross (20 miles across Scotland followed by a 30 mile cycle).
I did run a 1/2 marathon in Inverness in March, (1:32) 3 mins outside my PB. But I had a stinker of a cold at the time, and yes should not have done it. But as a mental and physical experiment it proved that the body can only take so much, I suffered terribly for 2 weeks after.
