i have 3 lots of protein shakes a day,7.00am, 3pm, 11pm. If i am working close to home and i can ride my bike to work then i will have a protein/carb shake straight after the cycling!

Holland and Barratt are currently selling tubs of an isotonic drink called Iso Energy for £2.19 - which is less than half price. If anyone is interested I'd hurry along quick because it wont be around for long at that price. I've already bought 5 tubs!
Cheers!

I have avoided the body fortress brand ever since i used their protein powder it churned my guts up something chronic and i found myself taking more trips to the lav than i ever thought possible. i then changed to a company called boditronics who were really helpful and their website has a customer forum and the fella that runs the company is always on there advising about nutrition etc. They have an ever expanding range of products at quite a competitive price, hope this helps

Are hypotonic drinks better than isotonic drinks..or vice versa? Any ideas?

I'm trying to remember which is which... are hypotonic drinks the ones with a higher concentration of carbs? If so I believe they're better for post-workout consumption... but then that's just my thoughts rather than scientific fact.

Not sure myself. Was told yesterday that hypotonic drinks/water better on runs but I've always used isotonic drinks.

isotonic better for hydration with some carb/energy content, hypotonic has higher carb content & therefore better for energy replacement than re-hydration?

Damn it, I'm going to have to look it up now!

well hyper=more and hypo=less, iso=equal and the rules of osmosis and all that jazz say if there's a high concentration of salt outside a cell, that means less water and so water will flow out of the cell and leave the cell flacid.

So yeah... tonic is in reference to the water bit... so take from that what you will, but I have no idea - I use an isotonic energy drink before during and after my runs and I feel fine...
