I can't wait to get up tomorrow now to try my new porridge with raisins.

I think my diet is ok really. It could be a lot worse. I've more or less cut out sugar and salt apart from what I've meneitoned earlier. But this years new year res was to try and get my diet even better. One of the reasons I've not really bothered about diet is because I've always been slim (probably through exercise). I'm still only 10 stone but I'm almost 40 so I thought I'd start taking more interest in what I eat.

I've also just started a personal trainer course so I've started taking more of an interest in nutrition.

I'm also celebrating my 40th by entering the tough guy race next january so I may not get past the age of 40.

The poridge was pretty much a success. I put raisins in it and microwaved it. It still tasted a bit bland if you took a mouthful which didn't have a raisin in it so I added a small amount of honey. Well, to cut a long story short, I ended up with it being too sweet so tomorrow, I'm sticking with the raisins.

Cool... Just remembered (it's been a while since I've had porrige actually) that sultanas actually work better with releasing sweetness, because they're a bit more... soft, and they cook better I think and mix the taste more... and are possibly slighter sweeter if I remember correctly. It's all much of a muchness really - I just bought a big bag of whatever was cheapest lol (good ol' student days).

I have 100% wholegrain wheat breakfast, with very little milk, like eating little biscuits, but dry and not as nice

I have porridge on race or long training runs.

That sounds a lil bit sucky! I just have good ol' bran flakes with skimmed milk... used to make the effort of adding fruit and nuts and what not, even HAD to have a banana every morning, but for the past few months that's all I've been having - I've just got breakfast lazy heh.
