The thing is I can see my body shape has changed, I'm loads fitter, and my jeans feel a lot looser around my waist but the scales don't seem to agree with me.

I'm telling myself that maybe its cos my legs have got musclier and muscle weighs heavier than fat....

That's exactly it muscle does weight heavier that fat and your body is toning up, throw out your scales and go on by how you feel not what you think you should weigh.

Great results it doesn't take long does it.

Thanks TT.. you're right, it doesn't take long at all...

I've found it has helped keeping tabs on my progress. I know that on the 15th Jan it took me 25.05 to run 2.4 miles and that yesterday it took me 20.35 to do the same distance...

This has helped spur me on.

I think I'll leave weighing myself for a month and see what happens then... if I manage my targets I should be comfortably running 5K's then...

If you want to keep tabs on your progress JT,you might find this excel sheet useful.

(It`s the one I use.)

I was exactly the same, lost 2 stone and then seemed to put 1 back on. Ok half of that was Christmas (note to self: ASDA 36 cans of fosters for £16 at the moment) but I've since shifted half of the stone I put back on but I'm sure the other half is gained muscle.

Dave

I've downloaded that thanks. I've been using an excel sheet to track my own progress but it has just been a list that I made that adds up the miles. Nothing anywhere near as sophisticated as that!! I'm really looking forward to having a go with it.

Many thanks mate

Me too, but I still need to lose another half stone; I'm still overwieght if you look at the charts!

If you look at the charts I should be that geezer off Jerry Springer who needs his walls taking down to winch him to hospital... They reckon I should be 13st!! I'm quite broad shouldered anyway and, even in my fittest heyday with a 32" waist I was 13 and a half stone.

I take your point, but at the most i still should be at the top of the range IMO. Anyway I want to be 14st 4lbs so that i can sing "200lbs of heavenly joy" like Tom Jones (although not as well as him, obviously) which would be about right.
