C25K and Runkeeper

Hi All,

Do any of you use Runkeeper for your C25K workouts?

I was wondering how accurate you think it is, compared to a heart rate monitor etc?

I ran (jogged!) 3.7km today for W5D1 (3x5mins jogging, 2x3mins walking) and it said I'd burned 292 calories. Seems perhaps a little optimistic to me.

Do you think this is accurate? I'm about 160lb.

Thanks!

Different calculations, but they aren't normally too far off for me. I tend to use the distance calculated version. I generally consider up to 100 calories per day as "swing" though... Some days I'm over, some days under... generally averages out naturally.

Nice one, thanks for the reply. I was thinking that the intervals would mess up the true level of calories burned.

I'm no expert, but I'd say that's a little high?

Maybe more like 350-400?

Happy to proven wrong though.

Edit: I did read that Runkeeper takes account of altitude (hills etc). Are you running in a particularly hilly area?
