Running outside to treadmill

Ok this may seem a bit a silly, but I want to get my gait analysed when I go to get my next trainers but I've never run on a treadmill. Do you just get on it and start running like you run outside? I have visions of me getting on one in the middle of a shop and making a complete fool of myself.

Just set the speed button to Maximum and jump on with your eyes firmly closed...

First time I went on a treadmill was a very strange experience. Running without moving anywhere, gave me a headache

I was literally on there for 30 seconds! Took me ages to get used to it.

I`ve never been on a treadmill Singularity.

When I went to have my gait analysed I told the guy and he took me outside and watched me running in the street with different shoes and from different angles.

It wasn`t a problem for him. So don`t worry.

All the best.

Dave.

When i had mine done they had me run up and down the shop over a pressure pad to analyse my foot fall and then took me outside to try on different pairs of trainers.

I had a terrible time when first using a treadmill like you said you get on and run normal but couldn't get to grips with the not moving part. Gave many people a laugh in the gym. Im here to please! You soon pick it up though.

I had a gait analysis on a treadmill. Filmed from the back wearing neutral shoes, when the guy slowed down the footage I could see the stitch line on the back of the shoe was at a sharp inward angle when my feet landed instead of being straight. I was severely over-pronating so they put me in motion control shoes and did the test again and the playback difference was a massive improvement and the shoes have served me perfectly since.
