Sweatshop Running Community
Has anybody joined sweatshop's free running club? It looks quite good, and has an ace loyalty scheme. I am gonna give it a blast on Monday, quite excited to run with new people.

Yep, I've been an SRC-er with Woking Sweatshop for a year now. I love it but mostly for the people because they're so lovely. There's about 20-30 people each week, I've made loads of new friends and we enter races together. The routes we run are fairly same-y and stick to main roads (as there's all there is around here), but it's good fun running and chatting with friends. In the summer we alternate between running 3-4 miles one week then hill sprints and relays at the park the next week. In winter we just go for a 5k on well-lit roads. It's very safe and friendly.
Give it a go. If it's anything like the one I go to you'll get a warm welcome and hopefully enjoy it.

I've run with SRC in London a couple of times as I was there on business and didn't fancy getting lost in scary London so thought I'd follow them. First time was about 5k which was short for me but they were decent enough, chatty etc. And the next time they were ace, really friendly

:-D I'm really looking forward to it now. I wanted to join the 5-7 milers but they run on a Wednesday evening and that clashes with my work, so I'm gonna go with the 2-5 milers and work on my pace.
Excited!

I had my first run with Sweatshop and I really enjoyed it. Bit of a faff getting there (it's really easy to find if both the map you have, and your mobile satnav don't sent you in the opposite direction so you have to sprint there...) This did mean I ended up running in my joggers rather than my shorts, which was a little toasty but it was good fun, I chatted with a couple of people and will definitely go back next week.

Ace! I need a new one already, got mine last week and promptly fell on my backside in a pool of mud on my first outing in it (also just happened to be a rock where my back hit the ground )
Mud hasn't quite washed out, will see it as a badge of honour

I just bought a pair of trainers from these guys the other day and was invited their runs. It seems a great deal with all the freebies etc but it's a 30 minute drive for me just to get there so not really feasible unfortunately
