Stomach Pains

Hi,

I have recently started running and plan to do a half marathon in two months. Personally I think my traing has been going ok and I went to Runners Need and got some fitted trainers after reading a thread on here. I haven't felt any discomfort after running and I have been stretching my legs.

However, I've increased my running time to about 45 mins in the past week and I've noticed that my stomach feels strained after running. Its not too painful but it feels as if I am straining my stomach muscles and I still feel this the next day.

Any ideas as to why this is or how I could prevernt this would be much apprecited?

Cheers,

See if doing some abdominal streches before going out for a run helps.

You might want to do some exercises to strengthen your core stabilility and maybe you need to focus on your posture when running

I normally eat about 2-3 hours before running.

Thanks for the advice - I will try doing some abdominal stretches before and after running and see if that helps.
