I am planning to run the London Marathon in April 2007, I consider myself to be quite fit as I play quite a bit of sport and go to the gym a few times a week, I also do the odd 10km jog once a month and normaly do 3km on the treadmill when I go to the gym. I average a steady rate of 5 and a half minutes a km.
Considering the above information what kind of training should I be doing leading up to next years marathon as it will be my first such event, are there web sites with useful training guides how many km a day/week shoulod I be doing in the months leading up to the event. Should I try and join a club in my area if so where could I find information on such clubs.
