Beginners running program.

Hello

Has anyone got a decent link to a beginners running program?

I'm 31 yr m very fit cardiovascularly as I cycle upwards of 300km a week at the moment. I've attempted running a few times in the past but because I'm already fit I have a tendency to start to fast, and do to much, which results in very sore legs and on one occasion , what you runners call "shin splints".

I need a good beginners program, mainly to condition my legs ad get them used to the impact of running, as I want to do a few Ironmans next season.

Any help, advice or links greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Would you consider a walk/run training program?Alternatively if you have a tendancy to go too fast you could train with a heart rate monitor. There's a useful article in this months runners world magazine. Have a look at www.runnersworld.co.uk - they also have a variety of training programmes on the site. Also have a look at www.halhigdon.com
