Hi all,

Many thanks for all the responses.

I've been out twice since posting, wearing the Nike Dry Fit shorts and I've used a little vaseline on the, ahem, affected area which seems to do the trick.

It's a little messy to apply so I might check out that body glide stuff 'cos if it comes in stick form, it sounds a lot easier....I assume it's available from all good retail outlets..?????!!!

Thanks again.

Nick

Are there? Where?????

I'd say you have to wear even a little something to keep it all tucked away and stop things flapping about!!

my running gear all have warnings on the label NOT use fabric softener - probably as suggested it will effect the wicking properties.....

I got 'chafed' Thursday. A 'beginner' got my heckles up by saying he was doing a 7 mle long run, and I've never run more than 10K - so set out Thurs to do 7. After 5 miles started getting pain just under my shorts (well you know where - top inner thighs) so I had to stop and walk the last 1.2 miles. NEVER had chafing before so was wuite miffed. Thanks for the advice - I'll try the creams. I'd be embarrassed buying vaeline (and can't think why I should, but hey!)

LMAO at the comment about talc & wallpaper paste!! Thanks HRun!

Free balling underneath the shorts. Best way to go. Thats whats most comfortable for me. Only time I wear undies under running gear is on longer trail runs or mountain runs. For those you cant beat the technical type boxers that you get from Lowe Alpine. Not cheap, but they are the dogs bollocks!!
