Glasgow Parkrun - 5km - 19:44 - 2nd (87 runners)

Warm-up 24mins, cool-down 2mins+

Cross-country course covered in snow and with very tight turns.
Stayed in second place from gun to tape.
I had severe breathing difficulties for the first 3km, better afterwards - after the race I could taste blood and had trouble breathing normally (at night had a nose bleed).
With first gone and steadily increasing the distance to third I just made sure I ran well.
Tough course, great workout.
I believe that was equivalent to a sub 17:40 (yes, that much of a difference) on a flat, tarmac course.

With about 4km gone met Monteiro - he's training for the Seville Marathon.
He was going to do 5x640m at a "good pace".
After 39 minutes we did the reps (then another 13mins alone after that):

Recovery - running very slowly. Avg: 1:41

Legs a bit heavy but nothing major.

Working hard all the way though never all out.
Very slippery under those fruit trees
Halfway through the 15th, feeling a bit lethargic, I told myself that it would end there if I would go under 32secs... Talk about motivation!

The first one was on gravel, gentle downhills and flat, second mixed gravel/tarmac with some uphills and wind and the third totally flat on tarmac with 400m into a "good" wind.
I felt the best on the third!

Very surprised and happy with the 3:10
