I've not been out running recently due to a number of things.
1. I worked a run of nightshifts last week and for some reason they played havoc with me! I was getting home after a 12 hour shift and only managing about 2 or 3 hours sleep, so running was out of the question!
2. Along with the lack of sleep last week I also managed to pick up some kind of a bug and was off my food and full of cold until the weekend!
3. Last but not least, I've picked up a slightly strange injury. I seem to have started suffering with extremely dry skin on the soles of my feet, which has split causing pain whenever I walk  So I need to sort that out now!
Hopefully the feet won't take much sorting out and once they are I'm gonna be back with it!

Didn't really feel all there today, didn't have anything from breakfast until I had a banana 20 minutes before I went out. Not the best idea!!
Couldn't really get into it today, it was a bit of a struggle to be honest. I'm sure my next run will be better

I wasn't supposed to go out today, It was meant to be a rest day..........but the weather was just to good to pass up on it.
I decided to just go out for a nice steady 15/20 minute run/walk session (still not up to the all running level yet ) but for some bizzare reason I felt great so I just kept on going!!
I did a nice loop down by the Thames and back to the flat and it was deserted. Normally this time of the day there's loads of people out walking and cycling home from work, but today there was hardly anyone. It was bliss

A really enjoyable run after a nice relaxing day off.
Felt really good during and after the run. No aches, pains or anything else for that matter.
Instead of feeling exhausted at the end, I actually felt like carrying on for another 10 or 15 minutes, but decided not to push it

Today was the first time I've tried running whilst working a period of night shifts. It went better than I'd expected and it would be fair to say that it woke me up ready for the night shift ahead!!
My only problem today was that it was pretty warm this afternoon and wearing a pair of tracksuit bottoms was probably not the best of ideas...Time to buy some shorts now I think.

I've been looking forward to this run since I got back home on Monday!
I'm still on the run/walk sessions and they're going well. Near the end of the run I was feeling really good and went over the 20 minutes I was supposed to be doing. I only stopped as I didn't want to overdo it and hurt the knee again.
The new trainers I got seem to be doing their job well. Money well spent it seems
When I got home, I started to get some twinges in my left knee again. I put some ice on it for 10 minutes or so and it seemed a lot better afterwards!

I've decided to try using the training blog to help encourage myself a bit to get out and keep running, I'm new to all of this, so be gentle with me!
I went out this morning and bought some new running specific shoes from a specialist running shop as advised on the forum. I took them out for my first run since I injured my knee a couple of weeks ago.
I kind of lost my motivation after injuring the knee and in a way I wasn't looking forward to going out tonight in case it started playing up again. I went back to the walk 1, run 2 that I was doing a few weeks ago to ease myself back into it.
After the run I felt pretty good and thankfully had no trouble with the knee.
Roll on Wednesday when I'll be back out again!
By the way all of the times and distances on the training blog are taken from a Nike+ iPod thing so probably aren't 100% accurate!
