Nice little jaunt up to the top of the trail. Couldnt help trying to do five miles in 40 mins can't think what made me do that I was going to go steady but as I felt my hamstring getting tight I just kept going and got faster, shouldn't have really but my trainer made me do it. Wont do it again until after the VLM. Sorry but I missed anyway as I didnt go for it until on the way back down.

The first 10.4 were relatively easy as with TheCyclingBear and we chatted pretty much all the time. The last three were harder physically and the legs were hurting, lungs were fine, just the legs got abit tight.......reasonably pleased with the first long run for two weeks. Got to get up to 18 for next weekend and experience the pain..........

Well here we go!!! After a week off due to hamstring problems as per last Mondays blog.
I can still feel a few twinges so took it very slowly and did okay. Avg 9.42mm. That will do for starters, the fast intervals is over for the next 40 days, it is not worth the risk with my Bambi legs..........hope I can make it......feeling rather nervous now due to my feeble body.

Tight hamstring but wanted to see how things were after walking to work and back yesterday, that was about 5 miles.......managed a slow crawl for a couple of miles but the hamstring is sore and couldn't overdo it.

Intervals went pear shaped at mile four after going too hard trying to keep up with the young lad trainer......managed a fast first mile and then felt abit tight in the hamstrings. Second mile pulled up near the end of a seven minute mile, should not have been pushing it as hamstring pulled. Hopefully a couple of days icing and rest will do the trick!!!!!!!

Ran 17.3 miles till within one mile of home on the trail and then walked s could run no longer or so my legs told me..........walked up the steps and then ran to home so probably ran 17.6 but it was tough, the legs died on me at about 15 miles, had to just hang on to get up the trail.
