Felt fine throughout the race, started strong but certainly not all out. Glute was a tiny bit tight on the climb around 2miles, but was fine after that. Took it steady for the first 5.5miles averaging 5:50mi and decided to blast the final 1/2mile and averaged around 5:05/mi... plenty happy with finishing that strong

Original schedule was for 6x1mi @ 10k pace... though feeling a little stiff in the right leg after tuesdays run I thought I'd just cover the 8.5miles at a normal/easy pace. After 1mi warm up I felt good and started to push on with the 1mile reps, though not as fast as 10k pace.
End of rep3 and my right quad suddenly tightened... that put an end to the speedwork so I just slowly jogged back home.

Struggled to hit the target of 6:17/mi, with pace dropping significantly on any ascents and pace not being strong enough on descents to fully counteract the climbs. Placing drinks around the route certainly helped though the lack of sleep from the night before (circa 3 hours) I felt played a part. I think without the hills on the course, 6:17/mi average would've been do-able.
