I say humid... it was really really foggy... but a very weg mist rather than your usual fog... it was verging on raining... but wasn't quite... basically visibilty was poor and I got soaked.

left calf (outside edge) feeling a bit tender.

6:45/mi, 136bpm. Ahhh.... so much nicer running in daylight, though I still got cold and soggy feet running down farmers tracks though

Passed the 600mi marker for these trainers... never used a pair of trainers for so long before but they're wearing pretty well and the cushioning seems in pretty good condition so I'll keep using them occaisionally for another 50mi or so before reassessing.

Was looking at my training blog last night and remembered that I was wondering if I'd hit 3000 miles this year, but have to say it wasn;t looking too good last night... To be honest I'd sort of forgotten about it and that lead to skipping a run or two here and there, which is making me now wish I hadn't! So is 3000 miles for the year still possible? I think it is if I really want to make it... it's probably not a smart idea, I've always been one to say not to chase mileage targets, or try to make up for lost training, but I think it's just about within my ability, and doing easy runs all the time can be a little boring without little targets to aim for.

So... I'll give it a go... though legs were a little tight on this mornings run, so I guess I'll have to take it one run at a time.

Argh... that means I need to do 11-12mi later today

Fast start to race and a group of 4 took off, opening up an early gap which was maintained for the whole race leaving me to lead the rest of the runners round and open up a gap to finish comfortably in 5th. Time is approx (no results out yet)

Ground very wet after the big thaw... glad to have put longer spikes in

Felt very strong, but just don't feel like I have any speed atm. Hopefully that'll sort itself out once I start doing sessions again.

Fell flat on my face trying to change direction too quickly on an icey path... whoops! No harm done thankfully and I managed to carry on round my freezing cold route (car thermometer said -5'C on way into work).

Horrible freezing fog which made it freezing on the face, and also made it bloody hard to see more than a couple of meters in front of you

Glad to have got a morning run in again - here's hoping this week can see some decent mileage
