It's about time I stuck to a training regime. Invariably, I start off eager, run too hard too often and get ill. I need to think about diet and try, at least occasionally, to stick to a target HR zone for a session!

Today a short run at a reasonable pace. I'll do more of these this week to get myself up to speed, then from next week I'm going to start a proper programme.

My aim is to run the Great South Run this October in 70 minutes. I'm not sure how unrealistic this is. I set my 10-mile record in Portsmouth two years ago at just over 75 minutes. Back then I didn't train hard enough; this time I will.
