I am with you on that Leece, I don't wear shorts outside the house unless they are lycra ones, flappy shorts don't keep everything together.

but surely the movement of the loose material disguises the movement of that which it covers?

Well, I didn't opt for the 'hot pants' in the end. I found some really cheap standard shorts at Tesco

Anyway, I wore them for a test run tonight and after about 100yards, I realised that I'd forgotten the ipod. I decided plod on regardless and when I got back. I found that I'd just run my fastest ever consecutive miles. After 2.75 miles I'd managed a mean time of sub 8 minutes. So I'm really chuffed and it left me wondering 'was it my new shorts or was it the absence of the ipod'. Me thinks it might be the latter.

So seeing as the ipod sport + kit thingy seems to have died on the run last Sunday, I'm wondering if I might be better off without it.

It's a sign! Your body is bound to adjust it's stride to suit the music, and as it would appear has been slowing you down!

I have some shorts like the cheapy tesco ones (if they're the ones I think you mean) and I use them for playing footy in - certainly don't help improve my running times though

Unhappy

don't worry too much, my eldest daughter (14) thinks I look like a tramp all the time; let alone when I go for a run.
