Moisture wicking clothing

I've just got back from my usual evening jog and being a humid day I'm drenched in sweat and feel very soggy and uncomfortable! I was wondering if the moisture wicking tops and shorts I read about are worth the money and would make a difference?

I had doubts myself initially, but after trying them would now run in nothing else - well worth the money in my opinion.

definately worth it... especially considering how cheap you can pick some of them up for!

There are loads on the market .pearl izumi, asics, adidas, ron hill, nike, nrg and brooks to name but a few.

I'm not sure if you've acsess to a running shop close by they'll sort you out otherwise if you google running gear or running shops you'll get loads to browse through .

It's always nice to try before you buy as some may be more comfortable for you than another .

I've used startfitness, sportsavers and northern runner and have had excellent service from all three .

There are different brand names for the wicking tops but i think they all do pretty much the same job.

As for price i've had some Brooks podium wicking t's from northern runner for about ten squid not too long ago very comfy ,ron hill t's are a nice fit as are nrg .

Hope this helps

Thanks everyone, I can order this stuff online but I agree its best to try things on first. Theres a couple of JJB sports near me so I'll see if they have anything mentioned there. Does anyone know of any specialist stores in the North Dorset area? or south Wiltshire?

Cap

I just ordered a Brooks HVAC mesh cap in case the 10k I'm running next Sunday is a hot one so I'll let you know what it's like if I use it.

I ordered a HVAC t shirt too but they haven't arrived yet and I don't like to wear new clothes unless I've had chance to try them for a short run first as they sometimes make my man nipples sore!!!!

I agree, Wiggle is a great site. I got my Ron Hill shorts and t-shirts from there for alot less than I'd have paid anywhere else. The T-shirts are great because they're slightly longer at the back to cover your bum!

I went to JJB today and got myself a pair of trousers and a t-shirt by Nike which are moisture wicking, I'm going to give them a go this evening and see how much of a difference they make. I'm not sure if I'll really appreciate it much though seeing as its chucking it down out there!
