Waterproof running jacket

Hi all just would like some recommendations for a waterproof running jacket now the weathers changing I don't fancy being caught out in the rain when I'm out on the trails. I've been looking at the salomon bonatti as I have read good reviews about it. All advice is much appreciated.
Thank you.

I've got a Gore Running Wear jacket made with Goretex Active fabric - the Mythos I think. It's really good - genuinely breathable and keeps the chill off when it's peeing it down in cold weather.

In the same vein as the Bonatti I'd recommend a Outdoor Research Helium II. It'll pack down so you can stuff it in a pocket if you think it might rain. If it is already raining when I set out I prefer the slightly heavier duty but still light OMM Kamleika (either smock - in my Avatar - or zip) optionally with OMM rain longs.

Some interesting budget running gear currently on sale at Aldi, including waterproof running jackets.

Gore for me too, mine is three years old and still looks brand new. Very happy with its performance, and I would buy the same again if I lost it.

I also got a Bonatti one. When I did the South Downs Way 50 miler on Easter Saturday last year such a waterproof jacket was mandatory kit and the offered one on their website. I checked out other models but this was indeed the best deal and good quality. Forget anything that is not goretex and hasn't got sealed seams, it's not worth it. There was a bit of a drizzle during the run and whilst I would have been all right with a cheaper rain jacket I would have felt pretty cold.

Gore have launched a jacket this year that features a hydrophobic coating so water just beads off it. Definitely the future for running jackets but unfortunately at the moment it's a rather hefty 220

I have a Kamleika. It's excellent, and breathable too. It has a peaked hood to keep the rain off your face, but combine it with a peaked cap and it's excellent. I've ran in torrential downpours for two hours and remained comfortable (provided you have a good base layer and bring a dry one in your backpack.

The issue is our country's humidity. No matter how breathable these fabrics are they don't do much good when it's too humid for the sweat to evaporate anywhere.
