If you want to stick with glasses you might like to try an orienteering transparent visor to help keep the rain off. I haven't used one myself but I have seen Senior orienteering types use them to help keep rain off their reading glasses when trying to read a map in the rain http://www.compasspoint-online.co.uk...enteering.html
