Got my first (of 6) 5k handicap race of the season tonight...legs are telling me they don't want to run after Sunday's effort so I expect to put down a poor marker to start the series.

Good luck, Steve

Just run really really fast; you'll be home and finished before your legs even wake up to grumble

Trin - all results are from the weekly free BPTT race (ahem - officially training run) held about just a couple of miles from home - http://bushy.parkrun.com. This week is the third birthday so it should be a big race (maybe 1000 people?)

There are also new variants in Wimbledon and Banstead and new ones starting in Leeds, Brighton, Zimbabwe (?!) and Richmond, with maybe more to follow...

Well 20:21 not going to win any prizes but not bad in circs and just 16secs off 2 year old pb so who knows by race 6 I may break 20mins!
Was 10th overall but didn't manage to catch SWMBO with her handicap ...she came in 5th.

Cheers Trin.
SWMBO was 62 secs inside her estimated time so will have to work very hard to keep to her 5th place next time round as her start time will be adjusted accordingly. Her aim is to get down to 25mins for the 5k so she's got to knock off another 58 secs...I reckon she'll do it by the 4th race of the 6!
