The first in a 10k that takes in the two castles in Alicante. It includes a b*stard of a climb. The second is a 7k trail race over the mountain near my house and the third is a 6k beach race. You've gotta have some fun in life haven't you?

In a month I've only lost 1 pound. I have an underactive thyroid, which is controlled through medication each day. Can anyone help me with why I'm not losing weight.:s

Evening all,

Just wondering if anyone is doing Keilder? I am considering entering as my first marathon so if anyone has done it before and has any comments / tips etc that would be great!

Looking at the website it appears to be quite undulating and almost all off road which sounds hard but quite appealing (especially the scenery to keep you motivated!).

For a flatish road course 1/2 marathon my time is roughly 1.38ish so was aiming for a sub 3.30 marathon time. However, I think considering the course, 4.00 hrs maybe more realistic....does this sound about right?

Thanks

Chris

Fell over about a month ago and gave my knee a big cut. Left it for a week then went back out for run. Knee really sore and could not really put weight on it for going up and downstairs and a bit of a limp in general.
Gave it two weeks until the pain was away. Back out last night for a 10k and I am now right back where I started, Knee pretty sore and once again I can't put any weight on it.

Always had strong legs and never had any problems with injury. Not sure what I have done but I am putting it down to the bang my knee got when I fell over.

Do these knee compression sleeves do any good? Hope this is not going to a long term thing.

Just entered my 40s and feel as if I need the running more than ever.

For the past 3 months I've been on a low calorie diet with lots of exercise thrown in on top of my 3/4 runs a week and have lost nearly a stone (it's been very slow going even with exercising everyday)

I got back on Monday from a weeks holiday where i did no exercise. I drank every night, ate a fry up every morning, had a good lunch sometimes with pudding and a even better evening meal always with a pudding. I get home expecting to have put at least half a stone on only to find I've haven't put any weight on & I've lost a few more lb's this week.

My sister says it sometimes takes a week to show any weight gain , so i got to thinking maybe the loss is from the previous week. I did a half marathon the day before I went on holiday.

I'm very baffled. Any thoughts anyone?

Was out for a run today, tried to use my forerunner today, ran 4k never registered the GPS, I gave up and had to use my iphone app, not only that it seems to measure my speeds at a slow pace, I find the forerunner very unreliable as the speed jumps erratically, and I look at my pace a lot when doing speed work I think it is because its the city as I had a run race in the country and it was accurate. Anyone else had this issue?
