Also, up to running 18 mile training runs. Shhh, don't like to say it too loud, but legs are really good, my fitness levels are much higher than last time (2005) and I hope to continue in this way.

Half marathon race this Sunday followed by another 18, possible 20, miler the Sunday after. I am doing interval sessions during the week + one training run and loving it.

44.5m last week inc very slow 19.5m run on Sunday. Was meant to do a 20m race but never got round to entering and couldn't be bothered to get up extra early to travel 40odd miles to enter on the day.
This week should be less mileage but am thinking I'll press on to get to 21m this Sunday and do less next week.
Still feel ok....even after fizz last night...I'm sure she likes inflicting pain!

80 miles last week and managed a cross-country race on the Sunday, finished much higher than expected.
Have done 4 weeks of building mileage so taking it easy this week, only doing 30-40 but it's funny how awful I feel this week!! 80 miles not a problem but 30 is killing me....?

I'm just back... still hot and sweaty... from 12 (yes 12) pain free miles... was just going out to see how far my leg would allow me to go, so no pressure on time either but I did those 12 miles in 1 hour 35 min...average 7.55's

I could have gone further...if I'd had the energy because my leg felt fine (touching wood).

I know I haven't got much time left before FLM but at least I have a fairly decent mileage to build something from. The trick will be to not do too much and irritate the old injury

Now...... food

Well done Trinity.
You must be well chuffed.
I`m doing well if I can average under 8 mins/mile running half that distance........

Thanks Dave... yep, I'm feeling much more confident now.
I would love to be able to go out and do an 18 or 20 before the marathon but I'll just build slowly and see how it goes... I've calculated that the last chance I'll have to do that kind of long run will be Thurs 5th April, which is 4 weeks from today. So there could be a chance yet

not if you're going for 3.30, I don't think I'll have enough training for that time...not this year

I'll just be sooooooooo grateful if I can run the majority of the marathon

Thanks Twinks I'm going to do everything I can to keep moving forward now.

I feel exhausted now though...I can't remember when I last ran that far, so probably won't run again til Sunday.
