Good on yer Granty.

You'll find the time because the event will become all consuming and your family/friends will just have to allow you to be race prep selfish for the next 4 months.

Have you set up a schedule yet?
Or planned any training races?

I hope so !

I've been looking at a few schedules, and I have decided to follow one I got from the London Website for the 1st timer / novice . A 16 week 4 days a week model.

Looking at a few 10K's between now and then to help, as well as the Bath H/M in march.

Great news Granty

Best of luck with the training and more so with the raising money.

Who are you going to run for?

I raised some money this year for charity and to get the pesky buggers to part with their dosh I did a raffle in the office, and by way of prizes I wrote to companies asking them to donate, local businesses were very good. You could also do things like guess how many sweets are in the jar for a bit of fun.

Granty - forget the idea of a 20 mile training race.

Been there, done that.

If you're doing to race 20 miles, you might as well race 26... you might as well just do another marathon - that's what I'm doing - Barcelona (but closer to home you could race Taunton?)

<H runs away - as that's quite controversial advice!>

Perfect............

You will have to start filling in your training blog now Granty.

I may not have been lucky enough to get a place myself,but if I can feel the pain of your training it may make me feel better about it.
