Here I am better late than never. (too many ciders last night in celebration)

LJ,Hollywood and Trin all put me to shame and I am so impressed with your times !!

I came in at a more steady time of 4:53:09 - I had been aiming for between 4:30 and 5:00 so was really chuffed that I had achieved what I set out to do.

It was my first ever marathon and I had the most fantastic experience, loved every minute of it. Felt good upto about 18 then started to struggle from 20, 21......22 almost killed me and then I saw my wife and 2 lads at mile 23 which really gave me a boost (mentally not physically )

I'd heard all the stories about how good the crowd were etc, and during the last couple of miles were amazing and gave me so much encouragement, crossing the finish line is something I will never forget. !!

(come over all emotional )

Words cannot describe how sore and stiff I am today !

PS, TT - shame I did not get a chance to meet you Saturday !!

Congrats to all who finished the marathon...2 questions:
1) Did anyone hear how the 101 year old man got on???
2) Am I being unreasonable by getting annoyed at the fact that the ballot for next year's london marathon is only open to UK resudents?

Well done to you all - Granty, congratulations, that's one hell of a distance to be still standing at the end of (did you drink a celebratory pint of cider for every mile?? - you certainly wouldn't still be standng after that!!) , I take my hat off to you. Actually, I was on the FLM site yesterday and I almost...almost, started to complete the online ballot for next year but then I thought, nah, I'm not quite ready for it yet, but one day, y'know

Trinity, that was a blinder, you must be so happy. Such a fantastic time. You set out on a mission and accomplished it in style. Knocking off 9 minutes is a demolition job! It was great reading about it too! Try as I do, I wish I could run that fast and that far What a star, Trinity, superb result!!

Once again, well done to all of you. The rest of us were here minding the castle watching and waiting.

Fantastic runs all of you. Just finishing the marathon is a stupendous achievement, but you've all done it in such good times, too
