Update....
In the main event our 1st team finished 6/27...one place better than last year...and our 2nd team 10/27 so we are pretty pleased with that for a small club.

The big difference between us and the quicker teams is a quick lady. Unfortunately we don't attract the faster lady as there is another local club which picks them up from junior level.

Our 1st team though did have the fastest male runner on the day.

Our 3 other teams, in the "B" race finished 3rd, 4th and 5th ...out of 5!

3rd Championship event took place yeserday...The Scores only 4.75M but 409 steps and 3 climbs.
It was hot, but could have been hotter, and we had a strong breeze in our faces along the sea wall.

A former club runner, now with City of Norwich, won the race in a new record time beating the time set by Paul Evans ( admittedly sometime after his best racing years) a few years back.

Our mens team came 2nd overall and our ladies successfully defended their title from last year....though this year they were all ladies!!!!!!! (You'll have to go back to an earlier thread for the story.)

I was 6th home for our club runners and was fairly happy with the time considering recent injuries, the sun and the wind.

Next championship race Felixstowe 1/2M 30/9.

Cheers.

I aim for top 33% normally and hope for top 25% so top 20% was a bit of a surprise!

Maybe a rest, or visit a health spa, that always works for me, only done it a few times as its quite expensive but well worth it.
I find that then my injury doesnt get me down as much, another pick me up !!!!

Sunday saw the 4th (of 12) of our club champs races...the Felixstowe 1/2m. A nice, testing 2 lap course well marshalled save for the finishing straight on the prom where pedestrains and cyclists seemed to be able to go about their business without realising there was a race on!

Anyway I've yet to see the full results but I finished 103rd of about 500 and was the 4th LRR man home.....only about 23 mins(!!!) behind our first chap who finished 4th overall.

SWMBO was the first lady club runner home having nursed a firstimer round the course and then sprinted to the line to pick up top champs points!!

Have now seen official results and there were 455 finishers.

The results show about 90 "dns/dnf".....including two of our club runners who I know withdrew from the race last week due to injury. This dns/dnf figure seems to representa very high % of entrants to me.

Cheers Hayley.
I'm 2nd in the club champs ....just 3 points ahead of the guy in 3rd and a mere 62 points behind the leader!
SWMBO LEADS THE LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
