Congrats to all! Nice one Trinity & cheriton! I'm sure the course is probably right, Garmin's can be tricked a bit if there's lots of twists & turns.
& a great effort to get sub 2 sc8pe! I think it was the biggest ever Reading field this year so it was a bit chaotic at the start - I struggled with crowds for the 1st mile & a bit.
Well I pb-ed too, so am very happy, 1:24:45, I'm feeling it a bit today but that's due to the post races beers rather than any great muscle soreness!

Well done to everyone.
Cheriton.
I havn`t been able to train properly for a fortnight.
I don`t plan to do anything this week so it will be 3 weeks by the time I run my half next Sunday.( If my ankle/foot problem allows me to run by then.)
So your result at the weekend after not training for a couple of week was just what I needed to hear.
Cheers.

Wow, some PB. I bet you're really pleased with that. I'm pleased that although it is under 2 hrs, I still have plenty of room for improvement, come the next one!!
I'm sore today too, and most definitely down to the efforts of yesterday. I was planning a short run today, but my thighs are like lead weights. Definitely tomorrow though!

Thanks for that Dave last monday i was convinced i wouldn't be able to run yesterday. The only meaningful run i did was last friday about 4.5 miles at race pace didn't feel too bad iced it as soon as i got back rested saturday .
Decided on sunday that i'd do it anyway .Felt a bit of a stab around mile 11 but other than that no problems it's still not right but when are we ever espescially at my age time is running out .
Hope you come right Dave
take it easy

Hi Dave,
Well ok......ish, I have had a bad couple of months with various problems and have not been training like I should (yours puts me to shame). I only decided on the morning that I was actually running, so the aim was to finish and sod the time. Well I did it in 2:12, which considering I wasted about 4 or 5 minutes doing things I shouldn't have done, I am not totally unhappy with. I know that with a bit more effort 2 hours was not out of reach. So at least I can beat my PB next time.
I enjoyed it anyway!
Good luck with you next one.
BP.

Good Luck for your 'Halfs' Dave & Steve, hope you do well.
I did manage a sprint finish through the stadium to the line, just to prove I still had something left, must have overtaken about 20 people, that bit felt fantastic! I just need to focus on my training and go for the next one....which one I don't know yet, must be one lap though! I did see some interesting looking pubs on the way round Dave, one chap was handing out beer at about 6 miles!......I resisted!
