Hi and welcome, Fiona.
Vonnie - hope all goes well on Sunday and you're feeling better soon.
Loopy - know how you feel - I came on - as predicted on of course, on London marathon day last year! Men don't know how lucky they are!
Talking of the London maraothon, I'm gutted as I didn't get in. Oh well, I'll definitely be running a marathon though, not sure which yet.
14 miles for me this week; might go out tomorrow, not sure.

Vonnie - are you feeling any better today? Really hope so... best of luck for tomorrow if you're still going ahead
Jayneee, seems it's quite a common occurrence for our monthlies to hit on a race day! I'm not sweating it too much, so to speak, as I was on my time of month when I first ran 10 miles and then again for my last 10k race... and as you say, once you're going it's ok... I'm more concerned for the run up in honesty, as I find when I'm premenstrual, my energy isn't great and it takes a day to lift once I'm on... hoping that I won't be too badly affected this month... got a bit more adrenalin than usual to power me onwards!
I did Parkrun again this morning - ummed and ahhed as I've a week now til the HM, but thought why not - class it as a slight variation on a tempo run - hehe - and i PB'd AGAIN!! I was so chuffed!! Got 23.38 this week... and was the second woman and the 21st runner out of 69... it's so encouraging how quickly you can progress if you really train, isn't it?!
Mind you, I'd best stop sounding so yay me, before some evil virus or cold knocks the wind out of my sails.... ahem...

Good luck for tomorrow Vonnie, and welcome Fiona.
I've gone and bought some new trainers, Mizuno Wave, mild overpronater (as I was told before), and actually it was quite fun watching myself run, form doesn't look too bad really (I had visions of having a really weird running style, but gladly not!!!). Going to try them on the tready tomorrow.

Thanks ladies, i felt a little better earlier but feeling bit rubbish again now. I went for a little run before see how i coped, did 3.72 miles and lets just say it was hard work. The first couple miles my legs were just like led, then at around 3 miles started to feel it in my chest but the legs felt better. I am not sure if the legs is due to flu or tme month i also came on yesterday and usually suffer bad first 2 days.
So now i am in dilemma over tomorrow, want to do it but just worried if i am up to it and if i am asking for trouble or if will be ok. Just took some flu capsules before going take them for rest day and see how things go.
Well done GERI on PB way to go :-). Jaynee no VLM place for me either :-(, cluck i also have mizuno wave inspires on my 2nd pair now xx

thank you for all the lovely welcomes!
Well I have had such a demotivated day today - had a long lie-in (got up at 2.30pm!!!) which is ridiculous and just knew that it was going to be one of those days where I wasn't going to get out and run - finding it hard to get going again at the moment since the HM. Had all good intentions of doing a long run this weekend too - oh well - will get up and go to the gym tomorrow and hopefully get in a run tomorrow too, even if it's a short one.
Hope everyone's having a great weekend x

Late check in from me. Hurray for those injury free! Boo to those under the weather.
Life is conspiring against me at the moment. Was supposed to do a 10k this morning as kids were going to be at in laws but in laws are poorly, so kids are here and hubby is at gym. I did swim 1km Thursday though!
Normal service will hopefully resume next week.

Well, decided to do a long run today - just felt in the mood. I just took it really steady and used the time to clear my mind and listen to music.
Vonnie, I hope you are ok if you decide to run - don't go making yourself ill, though. I admire your determination; you just never seem to give up!
13 miles for me then, today.

Well ladies i ran and it was no fun at all, it rained heavy the whole way i was running in water my trainers were just like running in the puddles. I stopped about 3 times to have drink as the bottles of water werent sports caps and made drinking and running really hard, i stopped one other time aside from these aswell. I didn't need to stop but i was so fed up because i was uncomfy with being so wet.
I will do proper report later when i feel up to it, despite the above and the conditions it should be a PB i came in at around 01:59:34 something like that. I am pleased with sub 2 hr but disappointed as if i hadnt stopped it makes me wonder what i could of got especially as i am still not 100% after the flu and if the weather had been dry etc.
Will report back later with my official time when it becomes available.

Wow, well done Vonnie!! I'm really impressed with your determination - I know I'd have been the same - would have done it even if it killed me. Sounds horribly miserable though - I was looking out the window this morning at the horrendous rain, wondering if you'd decided to go ahead and hoping you were doing ok... Huge congrats on your PB - you bloody deserve it after the week you've had, and for even turning up today when plenty wouldn't have done in your situation *have a huggle*
Must admit I'm not holding out much hope of my first HM next Sunday being in much better weather - this rain and wind seems to be bedding its way right in now to stay.
Jayneee - well done on your 13 miles hun!
I've not done anything yet today - feeling v demotivated - ruddy PMT setting in I think. I think I may hop on the treadmill and do something on there later. Hubby's probably working from home tomorrow because of the tube strikes so I'll see if I can get out for a 'proper run' again tomorrow. Although I am supposed to be tapering... ho hum!!

Just replied to your text V but again well done hun, I always knew you would get that sub 2 hour soon. I ran 8 miles the other day in the pouring down rain and was soaked to the skin, didn't mind at the time but was cold all day.

Well done V - fantastic time, you should be dead proud of yourself
I ran today YAY!!!! Only 2 miles on the treadmill, but my ankle feels fine, trainers were great and I'm now officially "back in the room". Wish I had a bit more time before my half on the 17th, but at least I think I'll be able to run it now, which I was beginning to doubt.
