Coo-ee everyone! I'm back! I haven't run for 5 weeks - but now I can report - no blister, no pneumonia, no pain in back/hip, no swollen foot from sunburn, no jet lag. Just done a very gentle 2.23 miles - in the rain! Luvverly!
Hope everyone's well.

Excellent, Pammy Hope you had a lovely time in New York - we went a couple of years ago and I loved it - an amazing place and the people are so friendly.

Welcome back Pam. Glad you are fighting fit.

I'm just back from a 2 week holiday and was raring to go but was bitten by a mozzy on my foot and it has swelled up so I am just flip flops at the mo' Doh!

Happy to report that I'm over the 20 mile mark for the first time in months.

Hoping to get there myself this week. Been a difficult holiday in many respects and running has taken a back seat, I'm afraid. Still, now looking to get back into it - hopefully will decide on which marathon to do next spring and I have a triathlon to train for next year which should be a laugh - two of my kids are doing it too!

A belated well done Twinnies.

Can't believe it's the last day of the school hols - although my waistline confirms it has been a good holiday for over indulging rather than running!

Just off to update my training blog with all the runs I have done in the holidays!

Then out for a short one tonight.

Just popping in to say hello. Not much to report really. Still dabbling in barefoot running but I've posted on another thread about that. I have a 10k on Sunday - just a local one nothing too major so I'm trying (and failing) not to get too stressed.

I managed to get over the 20 mile mark again last week, after two really slack weeks where I drank far to much wine and ate too much chocolate I thought the rest might have helped but on a 10 mile run on Sunday my left knee was hurting and then I got a pain in my right thigh. As I have the Warrington half marathon this Sunday I was wondering if I was up to it. I did a 6 miler today, thought I spent the first two miles wondering which leg might give way first. I was ok though, and although I'm under prepared I'm going to give it a go even if I do a PW not a PB

I started with a sore throat thursday night, and although I've took first defence to try to stop it developing I've got a proper cold now I've not slept well with coughing and spluttering... I don't know what to do about the half marathon tomorrow now.

Judy, that's bad luck...I don't know what to suggest. It's certainly going to be a warm one on Sunday. Hope you're feeling better though - I'd see how you feel today.

I've just been plodding along - nothing very exciting. Back at work so it's harder to find the time to run although forced myself out on an 8 miler yesterday and I quite enjoyed it even though it was baking hot.

Good luck to any racers this weekend.

I've had my best week for activity in a long time. Some nice runs, plus a dozen miles on my bike. Long may this continue!
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Judy - what a rotten time to get ill.
Jeanette - allez allez for your 10km.
