Welcome 1ofak1nd, like you I too am new to this forum and am also training for a half marathon.

Not sure about the tingling though, but probably just one of those annoying 'niggles' which will only become more regular as the half marathon approaches, but will all dissappear the minute you cross the start line. Good Luck!

welcome to the forum .
How tight have you tied your shoes ?

are you wearing the correct shoes for you ?

do you land heavily when you run .

how much running have you done before you started your half training?

Sorry to have so many questions but it's generally something simple at the root of a lot of things

there not overly tight, i can slide them off without undoing shoe laces if i use a bit of force
i dont know if they are the correct, just a £40 nike pair from jjb
erm i dont know if i land heavily, as i dont know how heavily you usually land
ive done quiet a bit of running last year, but only mile n halfs for the navy, but not trained since july

Thanks for getting back so soon It really would be worth your while getting your gait analysis done in a specialist running shop i suspect it could be a lack of the correct cushioning in your shoes

It's a constant theme on this forum the wrong type of footwear that is

analysis is usually free some will charge if you don't by footwear from their shop.

If you read the threads on hear the number of people who have had this done changed shoes and the problems disappear it's amazing .

Hope this helps you

Hi 1ofakind

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your 1/2 marathon training, hope the problem is resolved by new running shoes.

Which 1/2 are you doing?

I noticed a had a pins and needles sensation in my left foot last night. Freaky.

I have new trainers after going for gait analysis so it might be just my feet taking a bit of time to 'break in' the new shoes. I imagine myself landing heavily also so maybe that has something to do with it. Also, I often find I have to tell myself relax my legs a bit. Im used to short powerful bursts and not so much endurance so I think I am used to having my legs tensed up. I thought at the time that had something to do with it and it seemed to help.
