Sometimes people type posts in all caps which is annoying. If the board detects this has happened it will lowercase all but the first letter of each word.
The only way around it is to type more words in not-all-uppercase.

Ok then social report coming up........
Part 1.
Saturday 21/6/08...what a long day!!
It all began with getting up at the crack of dawn....well actually at 3:30am, a good hour before dawn. Some bright spark had reminded me that it was the Summer Solstice on 21/6 and that our club had a tradition of meeting at Ness Point, the most easterly part of England, seeing the sunrise and then going for a run. As the club's Chairman, still, despite my best efforts to be asked to stand down for bringing the club into disrepute, I felt obliged to be at Ness Point at 4:15, fifteen minutes before sunrise.
It was supposed to be wet or at the very least cloudy overnight so when I awoke it was great to see that it was dry and that there were broken clouds in the sky. Jumped up...rubbed my eyes vigourously, drank a strong coffee, put on my gear and drove off to the agreed meeting place..hoping others would be there. Not adverse to playing practical jokes club members!
When I arrived I was pleased to see 3 club members already there..what a relief. Others soon arrived and in all there were 9 of us to witness the sunrise...be interviewed by Radio Suffolk and then do a social run along the coast and back...to be interviewed once more by the radio guys. We did 5.5miles..and even at that time it was incredibly warm. We had the privilege of running past 3 teenage girls who'd had several too many...in fact we could smell the alcohol before we got anywhere near them! There was even a group of people, flowers in their hair, having breakfast outside one of the beach huts. Didn't see any Druids though.
So that done it was back home..for a shower and the obligatory bacon rolls! Any sensible person would then have gone to bed for a bit of shut eye. Not being sensible I went to the allotment for a couple of hours ...an excellent way to cool down. Try it sometime!
Bet you can't wait for Part 2!!

Got the jukebox on now.............can't beat a bit of Tiger Feet by Mud! Followed by My Ding a Ling....and now Mack The Knife.
Part 2
A couple of weeks before the day I'd sent Nat a PM saying I'd pick her up my way through to Glooston. I'd never met Nat before so didn't know her from Eve...and more to the point she didn't know me. For all she knew I could be a mad axe murderer....more of later! Anyway for some reason Nat said I could pick her up so I left for Glooston a bit earlier than I may have done at 1pm.
On the way I received a text from Trin....I was halfway to Nat's by then. Not sure I should report what she said...perhaps I'll leave that to her!
The traffic was fine for a Saturday afternoon...and England were pummelling the New Zealanders at the ODI. ( Fortunately the race got in the way of me having to watch/listen to the Kiwis wreaking their revenge later in the day!)
Got to the turn for Nat's place...I'd been given very precise instructions that self destructed 10 seconds after I read them so I was worried because my memory isn't what it used to be. Got to the house and as I got out of my car feeling a bit nervous about knocking on her door Nat came out to greet me like a top hostess should and I was at ease straight away.
We had a chat about this and that, a coffee and then we were off with what we thought would be about an 80min drive to race HQ. Having ascertained Nat's love of jazz....or rather the exact opposite....I'd changed a few of my cds but as we nattered all the way there was no need to play them. The journey flew by and before we knew it we were at race HQ and were being directed to the car park..."I know that face" I thought to myself as we drove past a certain lady...yep it was Trin.
To be continued. ( Need to get a coffee right now and put some more jukey 45s on)

Part 3.
After parking up the two of us met up with Trin who Nat and I then left so she could change in peace, and without prying eyes; there being no changing facilities. We decided to have a quick look at part of the course...better informed than not I thought! At this stage it was warm but the clouds were gathering. Rain looked odds on.
A steward pointed us in the right direction to let us see the hill...not too bad I thought...been doing plenty of hillwork.
Back at race HQ as I came out of the loo for the obligatory pre race wee I saw this figure in a RF top..."Richard" I shouted being fairly positive that this indeed was RS! What a way to meet someone you've never seen before...coming out of the loo! Anyway he didn't seem phased.
RS hadn't registered for the race. Nat, Trin and I quickly decided not to pass on the news about the hill..which with the race being run over 2 laps would have to be climbed twice...until after RS had handed over his entrance fee!!
Times was moving on so I had to get changed...well actually just put my RF top on and change into my running shoes so I left the others for a while to sort myself out back at the car. Don't you just hate trying to put your number on your vest/shirt...I can never get it taut or central..it's one or the other!!
Back with the others I considered a warm up...for all of a nanosecond. RS had said he was going to run his own race and I could see determination in his eyes....or was it fear?! I had agreed with Trin that we'd run together...well thinking about it I had previously said I'd run with her...I'm not actually sure I gave Trin the chance to say whether or not she wanted me to sit on her shoulder all the way round.
We were called forward. Nat desperately tried to get out of the gathered runners in fear of being trampled to death! Fortunately she found her way to the start and was in position as the race began....just after a few drops of rain had fallen.
