Least I've heard of the latter...even saw 2 of them.

All for motivation...don't get me wrong.

The last couple of runs I have gone out I have actually left my ipod in the office, to be honest I havent noticed a difference so maybe the music isnt for motivation but more for something to listen to

Exactamundo! I have just had to buy an iPod nano became the pocket in my new leggings isn't big enough to hold my creative zen.

JOKES! No, my MP3 player actually died 10 minutes in to my run on saturday (it wasn't raining at this point), which it has done before - I guess cuz it's old skool and has a proper harddrive with moving bits, so didn't like the running... but then I haven't been able to make it come on again, no matter how much I've pummeled the reset button and so on... so the rain/snow that came on after that must have got in, even though it was in the pocket of my waterproof - go figure! Anyhoo, I needed to buy a smaller thing anyways, so I've got an 8Gb iPod nano, twas only £119 off amazon, I think the prices have gone down? Hopefully it'll come before the 12 miler on saturday!

My favourite and only CD on my Ipod is Mark Ronson Version. I love it. Will try to get some other tunes onto it soon.

The I-pod nano is a good bit of kit. I've got a Brooks top with a nano sized pocket in it, one day I forgot to remove nano from aforementioned pocket. The lovely Mrs Squint washed top. Oh no thinks I. Overnight on the radiator and it was right as rain in the morning never had a problem since.

I've ran out of battery on my I-pod a couple of times, I notice it's missing on hills towards the end of a run where the extra motivation is much needed.

I bought an Ipod Shuffle for the good lady so she can listen to audio books and I have been known to borrow it for runs. I have a waterproof case for my 5th Gen Ipod which is brilliant but does make it a bit heavy to carry around, even with its arm band and it has been known to jump due to the HDD skipping!
I might look at getting an Ipod nano as a wee present to myself for running the marathon Don't tell the misses though!

Mark Ronson - Version is a good album but not one I can listen to all in one go, I tend to like some songs more than others..

Well I've been looking to get an iPod nano for quite some time now, because of the HDD! ANd the general weight of the thing. But that's pretty good! I remember the first gen nanos, everyone bitched endlessly about them! But if they can withstand being put through a washing machine, then it's possible that it will withstand my ownership! (I am quite clumsy and drop things all the time!)

You'd have to go some to be much clumsier than me. Mine has been dropped several times and still works perfectly. It was even chewed by a dog granted it was in a leather case at the time which did stop the worst of it but it still plods on.

Ok... I've been setting it up all morning - and then for some random reason iTunes crashed when the iPod was plugged in - so then I restarted it and it said a corrupted ipod was connected, did I want to reset it, hell no! so it said I could try reconnecting it - but now I can hear that it's connecting to my computer, but iTunes isn't picking it up and it won't switch on at all! It's battery was full!!! I'm pissed off, I only just got it this morning and it seems I'm going to have to send to ruddy thing back!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Smile

It's enough that I have to drag ME around the streets, the bloody 'ippo can sort himself out...idle sod he is!!

Seriously though. Walton's Spitfire prelude and fugue works for me...we're all different. I love Tom Waits but I'd have a buggered up run trying to keep pace with those mental Polkas, blues and waltzes. Definately NO Radiohead, just incase I encounter a PB Zealot. I'd be in the nick I know it!!
