Ah, I see. I don't get that because I always sip water as I go - despite all those people who insist you don't need to if you're running for less than an hour...

omg where is this going?!
I used to be really bad with having to spit but I have found out certain foods make me produce more phlegm (sp?) ive changed from white bread to brown which has made a massive difference. think its to do with my asthma and eating less processed foods.
i cant get anything to make the snot go away tho!

I always thought of spitting while running as the result of unmanaged breathing : when i use my belly to inhale and exhale , i don't feel the urge to spit. May be the more fit you get, the less spitfire you become
