Watching the Olympic Marathon on Sunday

Is anyone heading up to London on Sunday to watch the race???

Im definitely heading up there and trying to work out where to watch it.... Marathon Talk met at Friday street and it looks like it might be easy enough to catch them there and then head over to Cheepside to catch them 10 mins later. Or perhaps go to Eastcheap and see them as they come past twice where the course comes back on itself......but I bet the crowds there are 30 deep!!

did anyone watch the womens and have any tips for where to go??

anyone fancy a meet up?

I'm going! I have been in touch with the Icelandic participant and even though I am not Icelandic myself I will be there with the Icelandic flag. I will try to be near Buckingham Palace at around 9.00 am, so if you see anyone waving the Icelandic flag, that will be me!

Get there early, the women's marathon was 6 deep near the mall when we got there at 9:30.

I bought a train ticket 3 weeks ago to go and watch this, but I'm now 90% sure I'm just going to have a lie in and watch it on the TV. I'm just trying to balance up whether it'll be worth going for the atmosphere but with associated hassle, crowds, risk of not seeing much, long day to see the top men pass 3 times etc...

better to go and get a glimpse than regret it

I went to Hyde park to watch the triathlon, didnt get much of a view but glad I went as the atmosphere was amazing. Ive been going to work in London all through the Olympics and the transport network has been fantastic so no worries about getting there.
