Just to say that I am doing the 5k Loch Ness run in October. Would be good to meet with some others on the forum if you make it up here.

Do the 5k, 10k and Marathon runners all start at the same time?

The 5k and 10k start around 10am and the Marathon about 11am I believe. The Marathon starts at the other end of Loch Ness - an amazing route. My son in law did it a couple of years ago. He is extremely fit but found it quite hard (lots of big hills but fantastic scenery).

I had heard it was a tough one with the hills. Might train for it and give it a go next year since it doesnt look like I will get on to the London Marathon.

Thanks for your comment on my Half Marathon time.

I've entered the Loch Ness Marathon so as long as my training keeps going well and I don't pick up any injuries I will be there!

I'm going up to Inverness the night before with my Wife and Kids. I believe on the morning of the races the Marathon runners have to be on the bus before 8am, so I don't know if I will get the opportunity to meet up with everyone.

Will keep looking at this thread for any updates!

Loch Ness Marathon 05/10/08

I'd be up for a meetup at some race at some point, but probably won't go as far as Loch Ness, and I'm scared of monsters so probably not a good place to do a first race :P

I run in Edinburgh too. I generally run from Leith to Crammond Island, but once in a while do some running around Arthur's Seat.

There seems to be quite a few people who run in Edinburgh. Maybe arrange a mini meet some time...maybe even setup a running club if there was enough interest for after work runs....

I tend to be busy most weekends teaching up at St Andrews, otherwise I would be up for that.
