I will accept your challenge, but may have to wait until June as I plan to do a a few 1 mile races, but was avoiding May because of the marathon. There is a one mile race on May 28, which I might still do, but probably too close to the marathon and may affect my ability to meet Sturunner's challenge of a sub 3 marathon

Add to the list then..at bottom of first post in this thread...for now anyhow!

This sounds like a great idea, but I'm not even a 'proper' runner yet. I'm sure I'll be up for a few challenges in the future though, once I've got my first 5km out of the way in June.

Distance?
Can I do a 1-mile race and aim for that time?
I presume you mean a 10K race? If so, I accept. That's 4 minutes faster than my first outing, but I've managed that pace on the treadmill, so it should be an interesting test.

I challenge Dave !
Have not decided on quite what yet but have in mind something around the 13.1 mile distance (fitness dependent)
Failing that - a drinking session at the fighting cocks in Bristol

Fairy nuff.
I've entered myself for the Bideford 10K on 17 May. Bit of a hike to get there in the morning, but it should be an interesting marker to see how good or rubbish I am!

Lol - I didn't have a time in mind! Just getting round the full 5k is the entire aim for me!! Does 40 mins sound sensible for that distance?

Cheers, Ayrton (Senna - tenner).
I'm doing that kind of distance regularly in the gym, but not much road work, so I suppose I should get outside and feel the air on my face anyway. Heh!

Well remind me where you are at and I'll let you know...40 mins may be good for you but not so good for someone else!
