Possibly. I'd be more interested by the Duchy 20, though!

Way earlier, I'm now looking at doing the Tywardreath Trotter 7-miler in a month's time, to try to keep fitness up (or more accurately, work off the Glastonbury lard) in the short term.

That would really depress me. To turn off at 20 miles knowing that another 10k would mean I was a marathon runner; no way

I see what you mean.
We're coming from different places on this, though. You've already done one, whereas I'm going to have to build up to it. I'd see the 20 as a stepping stone on the way to a marathon. Having just done a half yesterday, the idea of doubling the distance just like that makes me think "No".
Never mind, let's think about it again when my long runs have progressed past 13 miles. Remember, just a few weeks ago, I'd never run further than 6 miles outdoors.

If I enter it, then cool. It's half on-road, half off-road, so I've no idea what time I should expect anyway.
Thank you!

SIC - I didn't realise Steve had challenged you to sub 1:58 - that is mean!! You should be proud of your sub 2 (especially on that course!!) ... he is only used to dead flat races like Dracote though so to Steve!!

Heh! I'm not worried that I missed the 1:58, but thank you for the sentiment anyway!
Giles can tell you I gave everything I had and if I were ashamed or upset after doing that, then I'd have a serious personality defect. I did my best, and I'm happy.

Thank you.
And on further reflection, yes. In principle, barring injury and stuff.
If no VLM, then Duchy it is.
I must be mental.

steve, I may need to change your challenge, I'm booked in for the sturminster half but it's on the 2nd of August, and it's hilly and i've been injured, can we delay until November?? As I've got the stroud half in October and the downton in Novemeber (although this one is very hilly)
