That would be 700 milesish in just under 6 months..so about 117 miles a month..ie roughly 30 a week every week...do you think you can do that? Happy to set the challenge alongside the 10k one if you want.

Had the best run ever tonight SB, 10k route quite hilly and with the club and though the overall time was not great 56 mins, however...... we all had to slow to a jog for half a mile as my running chum couldnt keep up as she had a sore quad from too much dancing on saturday and then we stopped for a minute or so, to regroup. At the 5 mile mark after these two delays my garmin said 5 miles in 44.30 mins, so if i hadnt of had to slow down i reckon i would have done it in 42 minutes over 5miles!!!!!
I stuggled to regain speed and rythm after that but continued and felt suprising good.
I had a shocker of a run on saturday and couldnt even finish the evesham 10k route so this was a confidence booster!!
Nearly there with my challenge of 5miles in 40 mins. Im getting there at last........ To be continued....

Thats brilliant Sara! I have had rubbish training weeks where I haven't even come close to my race pace so I have no idea how it works out on the day - but I am sure you will do it (I wouldn't have challenged you to do it otherwise).
I'm really looking forward to meeting you - AT LAST!!
I think I need a challenge.... I am going to scrap the others as a) Snowdonia is really not going to happen any time soon and b) I am doing a marathon plan and the 10 mile really doesn't sit well in it (plus I want to go and support the Social at Castle Combe). The next real test I think will be the half marathon I am doing in September with Leece (Wissy Half)... as I will be well into the plan then so I am really hoping to PB there. Anyone want to set me a goal?

Your challenge is to eat 3 different types of cake after the half marathon, 1 HAS to be chocolate..

Alan, I would have to strongly suggest you don't set a mileage target for the end of the year if it's any more mileage than you're currently running - the risk is that you end up chasing miles and ultimately end up injured... even minor niggles that set you back a day or two mean that you're then trying to catch up that mileage which will risk injury even further It's just not worth the risk IMO!
