Do 10k's get held all year round.

I would like to race that distance, at least once every 2-3 months.

I did my first race the Nike Run in 53 mins, i reckon I could improve. Because im still obese :S and havent quit smoking yet.

How bout Brooks Brighton 10k on 17th November?

I live in Basingstoke as well. You should look out for races organised by Tadley Runners - they're a friendly club and they have some good races.

I'm doing their 10 mile road race on Sunday if you fancy it. Starts off at Hurst Community College. You can enter on the day.

I also did their 10K in the Summer and they do a good cross country in December.

Also, have you looked up Reading Roadrunners? - they organise some good races. I did their Shinfield 10K in the Summer and also their 10 miler in February.
