I use nike structure triax 9, which a got from my local running shop (fit like slippers).
When I did my first run (8.5 miles), I purchased a pair of nike shoes from a high street sports shop. Did the training and the run ok, but shortly after started to have problems with my knees.
A friend at work, who as been a club runner for years, advised me to go to a proper running shop and take the shoes with me.
I was told by the shop staff that although these were purchased as nike running shoes (as per sign in shop) they were fashion shoes.
"They put a piece of rubber up the toes and call them running shoes, so many injuries are caused through this".
Shoes from the proper nike running range have a picture of a guy wearing a hat, and the name 'Bowerman' inside.
I'm sure top runners like Paula Radcliffe would'nt wear nike if they are rubbish. But only buy from a running shop.
