The other forum (Runners World) traditionally set up a support frenzy with banners and balloons at mile 17 of FLM, which has always worked quite well. The supporters appear to have a lot of fun and also the runners know where to expect their supporters.

How does everyone feel about that idea... obviously it would have to be somewhere else on the course...wouldn't want there to be a Forum showdown

Trinity - you are in no shape to do Draycote. Don't do it... not even "just" the marathon... Wait for FLM... You have many many years to go on to do more ultras in... as long as you don't turn your current injury into a really big one! (That's my advice anyway)

And I hated Mudchute last year... so I'm all for setting up another cheering point a little bit further on )

Mmmh - I'll make a day of it and come in to London to support our RF lot.

I agree, sounds like a good idea. Any ideas for a place for members to meet on the course?

I can sort out some baloons and maybe a few banners.

Hollywood... deep down I know you're right, don't worry I won't do anything stoooopid

Got a touch of the 'post marathon blues' I think... coz my thinking isn't quite rational at the moment.

Anyway...moving on...

That'd be great Dan!

Last year Rich and I stayed at a hotel, which was right on the route and it was perfect for supporting because you first saw the runners go past at about 14 and then they came past again at about 21 I think it was.

Rich suggested that this could be the place for RunnersForum to support, he's offered to get there early to set up 'camp'... what does everyone reckon?

Sounds great, I'll setup a new thread and we can discuss the details.

Update: New thread setup here
