50 miles, it was awesome though very hot with it starting at midday.
Not sure how many Brits, just wanted it to sound good (2nd fastest Brit in my category, any better? haha)

Did you run the whole distance or walk sections? Based on the time I'm guessing you ran. I'm doing a 57 miler in Sept and the tactics confuses me no end, running, walking hills etc.

Walked the steep hills, couple times I had to walk for a bit just to regain some energy but never for too long. Walking is always a good time to eat or take on fluids plus it makes you feel like your slowing down for a reason not because you need a break.
Couple times I found myself behind someone running up a hill, I decided to walk and lost no ground on them. If it's more effiecient to walk save your energy

Coming together slowly for me Grant, a few weeks of about 45mpw.
Got a slight niggle in my left knee caused by a stupid stretch so rest for a few days.
Hows the mojo?

Oh Lordy help me please....
I'm entering my first ultra race today. A 32 mile coast path run down here in Cornwall in August. I've only ever raced up to 27 miles before so this will be new territory for me.
Any advice for an 'Ultra Virgin' :-D

Rest is best, and will no doubt help you push on in the next couple of months.
Pam - I'm sure some Pinot will help your niggle go away!

Not long to go! No advice but hope the training goes well! Do you have a target time in mind?

No time in mind, completion is my goal, if I manage to do it still upright then that'll be a win!
I'm not one to take the easy options, in fact I tend to take the hardest route possible. Like starting out with a 32 mile hilly coast path ultra!

Good luck with that! Are you doing the sixty or the hundred?
The course comes through my village and I normally try to be there to support as many of the runners as I can but I can't this year. As its home to me I know the course very well indeed, It's tough as nails but so worth it!
I'm on the south coast running the classic quarter
