Sprinting for track

Hey all, I was wondering if any of you can give me advice as far as sprinting training goes for track? I've never done track in my life and I plan to attempt to walk-on to my college's track team. The coach and I have been emailing back and fourth and we are trying to meet soon to discuss it but in the mean time I'd like to start training since try-outs for walk-ons are in september. A few months ago I started cutting weight from bulking with weight lifting so I did a lot of HIIT, I'm down from 200 to 175 and I'm pretty lean. My usual week includes running 100 meter sprints 6 times with a minute of rest in between sprints usually 2 days a week. Thanks!
