Erm... Leeds railway station although I can't remember which platform.
Piraeus harbour, Athens.
Manchester Airport.
The M65 (before it opened, sometime in the 80's, we used to run on the stretch near
to where we lived. Just a long, wide, empty road... we never seemed to get
anywhere!)

pedestrian... It's really good that you bring back these topics

Hmmm... Shetland during a hurricane... Leaving my backpack at a bus station and going for a run at 4am while waiting for a connection...
I have run in very original circumstances... not so much in unusual places (apart from some hill-races in Scotland. Runningfox - you would love those).
Some of those circumstances are a bit too embarassing to tell

I once ran 23 miles on the spur of the moment after missing a last train and then a last bus. I had the added bonus of having to carry my rucksack too! Less than 48 hours later I won a very hilly half marathon (without the rucksack... 1200 feet of ascent). Great days!

hahha
I will tell each and every forum member but only face to face

Lets just mention a zigzagging run through the snow after a welcome party in Poland. I guess those 4 miles were more like 8 to me that night.

I went to Australia last year and stayed in Brisbane. I ran on the floating walkway which runs along the river, it bobs up and down a bit when the boats go past. Brisbane is a very cool place. Back to boring Basingstoke again now running through underpasses with local murals.

Nothing quite as interesting for me I'm afraid

Best I can do is when I went for a run when various parts of the town were flooded, I had a fantastic time bounding through water nearly up to my knees in places. Perhaps this is a little harsh of me, but it was great to see everyone stuck in their cars while I happily jogged past!

I ran round a large park in Christchuch NZ once in spring, one whole side of the park (about 1/2 mile) was lined with cherry trees in blossom, very beautiful like something out of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Except with less ninjas and sword fighting

I've run on that pontoon too... plus i joined the local club for their regular Sunday morning race.

... plus I've been for runs in the Galapagos - complete with lizards, finches, turtles and boobies...

...and...

... have I mentioned Tonga and sharing the track with their rugby team...

...and...

... Buenos Aries - they've got some real nice parks to run in...

...and...

... Rio - Copacabana - superb beach front for running...

...and...

... Quito, Ecuador - the law said I had to carry my passport

...and...

... Peru and Bolivia - just had to try to run at altitude!

...and...

... Sydney near the opera house....

...and...

... many beaches in Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia, plus some cities too...

...and...

... India - Delhi was a nightmare - the bird reserve was lovely (runs with wild peacocks!)

...and...

... Taiwan - there's a track near the work hotel and there's lots of martial arts dancing to watch as you plod round at 6am

...and...

... Portugal - that lot are really weird!

...and...

Oxford Street, London - the NikeTown runs are very funny to watch.

Nice list Hollywood What on earth keeps you in the UK?
I've just won a holiday to South Africa sometime this year so I'm looking forward to a few speed sessions if I venture out over there. See if I can out run a stampeeding elephant.
