as part of our 20th anniversary programme we are looking to go away as a club to do a weekend race. ideally the travelling distance from long eaton (derby/nottingham) wouldn't be too great, the race(s) should accommodate all abilities, there should be cheapish hotels and in the perfect world the race would be a saturday so we can get bladdered on sat night. we are looking for an early autumn race probably.

if you have any suggestions i would be grateful. similarly if your club has had a great weekend abroad let me know as that is also in our plans.

it's not how fast, it's how often

I went to Mallorca on our club trip in December 2004... I ran the marathon but there's also a half. It's a good race and well supported.

Last year they went to Benidorm and all who went had a good time apparently.

We usually use a company called 'Running Crazy', they do package race trips at quite reasonable prices.

Or Amsterdam - there's a marathon, half and 10k all on the same day. Early October this year. Cheap flights on easyjet.

Can anyone recommend some good races in the USA?
