Might even be worth having this thread in the General section. I know I'm new to this site, but this is the first time I've been in the RF News section.

Good point... although I never go in via topics, I click on the link under my pic where it says how many new posts since my last log in...

I don't mind moving the thread if people agree though, just say

Ok...tomorrow I'm going to enter the race and book into a Travelodge so I hope you don't all back out and leave me feeking like Trinny no mates

I'm either going to stay here... https://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_...p?hotel_id=138

or here... https://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_...icesterCentral

both are just £29 a night if you book asap

The race looks great... it's Saturday evening and finishes at a pub! Perfect

Anyone know where East Midlands airport is? And how easy it would be to get from there to Glooston?

East Midlands Airport is here

Glooston is about 30 miles away by car. There is some train access near-ish. Looks like the stations are a couple of miles away both ends so that's not really practical.

Looking at your location I'd say either you'd need to bring some cash for a taxi, or see if anyone is passing near the airport and might be willing to give you a ride.

Thanks

No sensible options for flying from Gdansk to there anyway, so looking at Gdansk -> Stansted or Bristol, then train / bus

If I can find a way to get there, the Katt will be there

Glooston isn't really near anything. You could get a coach or train up to Leicester, but you're probably looking at a 13 mile taxi ride after that.

Just did a quick search. A coach ride would take about 5hrs 30 from bristol. A train ride would take about 3 hours but needs a change and half hour wait in Birmingham.
If you could get a flight into birmingham international airport then the train journey would be an hour.

I wouldn't choose a london airport unless you have to, or enjoy crowds.

Bummer

Looks like I'll just have to run twice as fast at the "unofficial" RF get-together at Amsterdam marathon to make up for it So estimated finish time of 1hr 45mins ish. I'll be the guy with the gold medal and the speeding ticket

Katten... if you get to Bristol at a reasonable time on Saturday I will give you a lift, we could share the fuel cost if you want
